I am writing to express my wholehearted endorsement for Lisa Horne as a potential member of the J.O. Combs Governing Board.  Having served on the board for 16 years, I believe I can recognize the qualities necessary for effective governance, and Lisa embodies them in abundance.

In my experience, a good Governing Board member must prioritize the well-being of the students above all else.  They should be deeply connected with the community, understanding its diverse perspectives and needs.  Lisa Horne exemplifies these qualities.  Her involvement in various community activities, particularly those involving students, demonstrates her commitment to understanding and serving in the interest of all stakeholders-students, teachers, administrators, parents, and business leaders alike.

One of the most crucial attributes of a board member is the ability to listen attentively and act decisively.  Lisa possesses these skills in ample measure.  She approaches decision-making with a thorough understanding of the issues at hand, ensuring she is well-informed before making any choices.  Moreover, she isn’t hesitant to take action when necessary, even in the face of challenging decisions.
